The MacDonalds family run their Vintage and Antique stall just outside the shed on the market area off Cattle Market Street. It’s always worth a look at their varying array of interesting and often nostalgic old items.
Where are you from?
How long have you been at Fakenham Market?
About 9 years.
What are your opening times here?
6am – 1pm ish.
What other markets do you attend?
What led you to running this stall?
We had an antiques shop – Old Row Antiques in Great Yarmouth, then had a break when we had children and now we are semi-retired we started running our stall. Rod used to work in shipping and his wife in education, and he has always been interested in furniture making, in the past he has sold welsh dressers to Bloomingdales in the USA and music stands to Harrods, as well as selling locally.
What do you like about coming to Fakenham Market?
The camaraderie. All the stall holders help each other. The atmosphere – it’s just a nice place to be with an interesting mix of people and lots of regular customers.
What are your best selling items?
Kitchenalia, old tools, pictures, small furniture items , vintage items of all kinds.
