Jaimee’s Patisserie

I very much enjoyed chatting to Jaimee, who at 22 must be the youngest stall holder on the market. This market has always been part of her life, and she loves getting out and meeting people. In the short time she has been running her stall she already has regular customers who look forward to their favourite treats to buy. Her stall is in the Market Place near to Barclay’s Bank.

Where are you from? Norwich.

How long have you been at Fakenham Market?
I started in August 2020.

What are your opening times here?
8am – 2pm

What other markets do you attend?
Norwich Free Market which is monthly on Sundays at the Theatre Royal.

What led you to running this stall?
I used to work backstage at the Theatre Royal, and I would also bake for performers and fellow workers, providing food in the Green Room. Due to the Covid-19 lockdown the theatre was closed and I was made redundant; baking is my second love, so I thought I would give it a go!

What do you like about coming to Fakenham Market?
Since I was young my grandfather had a good friend in Fakenham, and together with my siblings, we used to visit him every Thursday, and go to market and then go back to his house for sausage sandwiches! So I have a life long connection with this market.

What do you sell?
Savoury and sweet baked goods: sausage rolls, spinach and feta swirls, black pepper and mustard cheese straws (a best seller), cupcakes, brownies, Biscoff cornflake cake, white chocolate and raspberry blondies, mini Victoria sponges, loaf cakes, and slices of cake, chocolate and walnut cookies. I have gluten free and vegan options. I also make birthday cakes to order.

Jaimee’s business is on Facebook and Instagram, so do take a look to check on her latest news.
