Fakenham Town Council Stall

A recent addition to the Thursday Charter Market is the introduction of the Pop-Up Market stall provided by Fakenham Town Council.

After reading about the many enticing stalls on the market over the last 3 years now, maybe some of you would like the idea of joining in and running a stall yourself at this friendly popular market? This new stall is for those who have their own business and wish to test out running a stall here without first having to invest in their own gazebo. Usually newcomers are encouraged to book for 4 weeks, and then if they are happy and successful, they can acquire their own stall with a regular pitch.

The stall is normally positioned in front of the War Memorial to give the best footfall while anyone is starting out.

A few regular stalls have recently retired or left for personal reasons, so although the market still appears vibrant and full, there is currently space for some newcomers.

When not booked by businesses, the stall can be available for use by charities.

Denise Jewellery

Where are you from?
I am Norfolk born, currently living in East Tuddenham.

How long have you been at Fakenham Market?
About 9 years.

What are your opening times here?
7.30am – 1pm

Which other markets do you attend?
Swaffham, and a few local festivals such as Aylsham Show and Worstead Festival.

What led you to running this stall?
I have travelled very widely and the beautiful jewellery I saw in countries such as India, Bali, Egypt and Thailand inspired me to take up selling and making jewellery, and my time in India also led me to train as a Yoga teacher, and I now run classes in Dereham Leisure centre and Matishall.

What do you like about Fakenham Market?
I love having a wander round myself. I like going to the auction and enjoy the huge variety of goods on offer around the stalls as well as the friendly people.

What kind of things do you sell?
I travel abroad to source unusual items and I sell many things at very reasonable prices: necklaces, rings, earring and bracelets. Prices start as low as £2 for earrings, and necklaces range from £6 up to £90!
