The Almond Kitchen is an unusual arrival on the market, and these delicious cinnamon flavoured caramelised almonds make a very welcome warming treat! I have tasted some before from Copenhagen but this is a lot closer…. The stall can be found close to the war memorial in the Market Place. I talked to Karen to find out more:
How long have you been at Fakenham Market?
I started here on the 1st February!
What are your opening times here?
8.30am – 2pm
What other markets do you attend?
I am just starting out so I am currently trying out various markets and events.
What led you to running this stall?
This is a totally new venture for me. I had seen this being done in several countries in Europe, but had not come across anyone doing it here. There are lots of slightly different versions of the coating so we have practised to come up with our own recipe.
What do you like about coming to Fakenham Market?
It’s very friendly, a lovely market town and the other stall holders are very friendly too.
What do you sell ?
Coated almonds – cooked with cinnamon, sugar and water until caramelised. They are freshly cooked on the stall and sold warm.

This stall is currently (2019) no longer at the market, but the article has remained to give an idea of the variety of stalls we attract, and more are always welcome.
